All throughout high school we work to the best of our ability to figure out the big question, what’s next? It’s easy to get anxious and stressed about what I’m going to pursue after high school ends. I have done some thinking and figured out that right now, college wasn’t for me. Now what? I believe after tons of praying, the World Race is the answer. They prepare us to bridge the gap into what happens next. We learn to live out our calling and openly sacrifice daily for others just as God has said we should do. I can’t wait to live in Christlike community for 9 months and get to know them on a deeper level. I know this will help me learn to be vulnerable and open with them and hope they will learn to do the same with me. I have the opportunity to travel to Guatemala, Romania, Eswatini and South Africa. I love that I’m gonna be able to share God’s love to others who are lost or even just confused about who God really is. I know I was there at one point but through community and learning Gods word, I’m growing. I still have a long way to go but I’m doing my best to embrace the process. God is a patient and forgiving God. He knows us better than we even know ourselves. One of the biggest things I wanna learn on the race is how to trust God daily through faith and answered prayers. One verse that I always keep in the front of my mind is Jeremiah 29:11 which says “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. They are plans for good and not disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” This just really gives me joy knowing no matter what, God has great plans for me and you both.
